Let the healing begin.......

Last November, I made a trip around Thanksgiving over to the Big Island of Hawaii to visit my Dad. I have never had so much fun with my Dad. That's right, no husband and no kids! Just me and my Dad. This is a picture of us at South Point. Piece of trivia: This is the southern most tip of the United States! This was actually taken on Thanksgiving Day of November, 2005 after we had been to the local Thanksgiving dinner at the Oceanview Community Center. That was so much fun! They had traditional and contemporary Hawaiian hula dancers who performed a beautiful dance to "I Can Only Imagine" after our meal! They also had door prizes, which I won.....a bag of macadamia nuts! Yummy! I got to meet all the locals, including a neighbor and friend of my Dads, a former weatherman, Mike! From there we traveled to South Point!
This trip was a very important trip for me as my Dad and I had been estranged for 13 years....
